Sunflower Planting Day - Saturday 1st May

Sunflower Planting Day on Saturday 1 May - Vestry Road playground at 10.30 a.m. till 12.30 p.m.

Following our planting event in March, children will be able to plant their labelled sunflower in the flowerbed along the Vestry Road playground fence and watch them grow throughout the Spring and Summer.

Won’t they look bright and cheerful? Whose sunflower will be the tallest by August?

Monthly Gardening Club

WVRA Gardening Club

The Gardening Club meets on the first Saturday of each month at 10:30 am to tend the garden on the Village square and the flowerbeds in the area, remove graffiti, generally tidy up, prune and weed and tackle special projects. This work, apart from making the Village look great, has made a big impact safety and crime-wise by preventing obscured sightlines and clearing places that can be hidden behind.

We have planted hundreds of bulbs over the years so the Village really looks a picture in spring.

WVRA awarded £6739.35 by Walthamstow and Lea Bridge Community Council

Church Lane - adoption, repair and replanting of two brick planters
